Journey

Known for his vibrant fusion of Afro-zouk, salsa, and rumba, Petit Miguelito's artistic journey is both a tribute and a testament to his beloved late father, Miguelito, an influential figure in the Beninese music scene. Born Ghislain Toffohossou François Miguel on December 22, 1986, in Cotonou, Benin, he embraced music as a path of homage and healing after losing his father at just 11 months old. Self-taught and determined, Miguelito made his name with the debut album "Du père au fils" in 2006, a powerful expression of love and legacy. This album, along with its heartfelt tracks such as "Lonlonyin" and "Tchin Tchin Tchin", carved a niche for him in the competitive world of Afro-centric sounds. Expanding his reach with subsequent albums, including "Confirmation" and "La Prophétie", his collaboration "Mon Bébé" with Ivorian singer Teeyah marked a high point in his career, captivating audiences beyond Benin. After stepping back to reflect, he returned rejuvenated with the 2022 and 2023 singles "Dédji" and "Doée", proving his enduring artistry. With each performance and recording, Petit Miguelito continues to embrace cultural resonance, creating music that spans borders and generations.
